1974

Two young Finnish engineers Martti Kutvonen and Pentti Latopelto establish Opla Oy in Espoo. The company starts manufacturing optics and glass blowing.

1984

The company splits and Oplatek is established in Leppävirta.

1988

The first fiber drawing tower is erected to draw optical fibers.

1993

Jori Waissi acquires the company.

1998

Entering the international market with telecom optical fiber. Sales to Switzerland, Germany and South Korea.

2000

The second fiber drawing tower is erected. Expansion of the facilities.

2008

Re-arrangement of ownership and new investors. Jyrki Huttunen starts as the CEO of the company.

2016

Extensive investment program in manufacturing and internationalization.

2018

Expansion of premises, new employees, and investments in automated glass crafting, doubling the glass molding capacity.

Oplatek provides optic and fiber optic solutions for lasers, detectors, analyzers and other optical devices. We serve for example laser manufacturers, detection or measurement device manufacturers, R&D organisations and universities. 

PROCESS INDUSTRY

Oplatek manufactures optical components and modules for online and offline process measurement devices and analyzers. We have experience in manufacturing photonics solutions for demanding environments.

CLINICAL CHEMISTRY

Oplatek supplies manufacturers of analyzers and medical devices with fiber optic cables, fiber bundles and other optical elements.

SPECIALTY LIGHTING
